About Amrutha Gaushala

In Vedic tradition, cows are worshipped as mothers. According to scriptures, there are seven mothers: atma-mata (one’s own mother), guroh patni (the wife of one’s teacher), brahmani (the wife of a brahmana), raja-patnika (the wife of the king), dhenu (the cow), dhatri (the nurse) and prthvi (the Earth) are all considered mothers. Just as the child feeds on the breast milk of the mother, human society takes milk from the cow. A civilized man is, therefore, expected to give all protection to the bulls and cows.

Current Challenges in Dairy Farming

Farmers in India own and manage over 70 percent of total cattle population, due to lack of awareness farmers faces challenges on management of cattle nutrition, prevention of infection & diseases like mastitis, acidosis and reproduction issues, dairy cattle becomes low productive, permanently disabled and non profitable. These challenges have lead many farmers to abandon cattle on streets and give up farming and start searching jobs in cites. In addition to this the quality of milk and hygiene are also compromised largely.

Cattles in Gaushala

Setup a state of the art Gaushala with Malnad Gidda, Hallikar, Amruth Mahal, Punganur, Ongole, Vechur, Umblacheri, Gir/Sahiwal Cows.

Gaushalas or Goshalas are protective shelters for stray cow in India. Stray cows are unproductive. Government grants and donations are the primary source of income of the cow shelters in India.
